Building Our Beloved Community: A Letter from the Stewardship Ministry

Greetings WellSprings! The Stewardship Ministry has begun work on our annual pledge campaign for the July 2024 through June 2025 fiscal year. We are inspired by our congregation’s generosity and sincerely thank everyone who supported WellSprings with a pledge commitment for the fiscal year July 2023 to June 2024.  Our pledge campaign theme this year is Building Our Beloved Community! At WellSprings, pledges are a commitment to give throughout the coming year. They allow us to plan for how WellSprings will…

A Welcome to Some New Leaders

Welcome New Leaders! We are grateful to have some new leaders joining our Senior Leader Community at WellSprings in 2024! In January the Board announced that Chris Rieder has been appointed as a Board Trustee to fill the seat recently vacated. Chris is also a member of the Tech Team. Sarah Costa also recently joined our Stewardship Ministry. Sarah has volunteered in YouthSpirit, and you may recall that she led an “Off the Fence” Soul Bite, this past fall. Jenn Nettingham and Samantha Weber have also been actively participating in our YouthBridge Ministry – as…

Greetings WellSprings! The Stewardship Ministry is wrapping up our annual pledge drive, and we would like to provide an update on the results.  We are inspired by our congregation’s generosity and sincerely thank everyone who made a pledge commitment to WellSprings for the fiscal year July 2023 to June 2024. Our stewardship goals were: We have now received $206,383 in pledge commitments, which is 78% of the way to the requested goal. We have given the total pledge amount to…

A New Member Welcome, and an Update from Our Stewardship Ministry

This past Sunday, we celebrated Belonging Sunday, where we welcome new members who have joined our congregation over the past year. We were happy to welcome five new families, as well as two individuals who joined us the prior year, in 2022. Each new member is given a gift bag with a few symbolic gifts: a little Energizer Bunny to represent our charged-full mission; and sunflower seeds, to represent how we hope our members will come to us on “rainy…

Welcome to Our 2023 Pledge Drive!

Greetings to WellSprings! WellSprings is a unique community. And your support is essential. This past November, the Board of Trustees reached out to us to ask for additional financial support, given budget shortfalls in the current fiscal year. Our community responded by giving $28,700 that greatly assisted WellSprings! Thank you! WellSprings celebrated its 16th birthday this year! It was fortunate in early years to be supported by major financial grants from other institutions as a startup congregation. In recent years,…

A Letter of Appreciation to Our Volunteer Leaders

We do not say it enough: thank you volunteer leaders for your work to nurture our spiritual well-being as you also manage the functions of WellSprings. The Leadership Development (LD) Ministry would like to express our deep appreciation to WellSprings volunteer leaders for their support during the year 2022. Every Sunday last year we saw and valued the remarkable work of our WellSprings staff – Carol Breslin our YouthSpirit Director, Jessica Heichel our Membership & Communications Coordinator, and Paula Bower our Office Coordinator. Their flexibility and resilience…

The WellSprings Board is in the process of responding to one of the recommendations from the recent Stewardship for Us review – “Build stewardship culture and capacity, including more options for financial giving; expanding volunteer and staff orientation and engagement around stewardship; and launching an annual stewardship campaign.” The Board has engaged Mark Ewert, who did the initial review, to help with implementation of this recommendation. Curious about what stewardship might look like here at WellSprings? All congregants are welcome to attend this online info…

End of Year Ask from the Generosity & Gratitude Ministry

As this unprecedented year nears its end, the Generosity and Gratitude Ministry would like to know: What are you grateful for at WellSprings?  Here’s what we’re asking:  Answer the question. Take your answer and compress it down to a quick 5-second answer. Record what you’re grateful for about WellSprings as video. It would be best if you did it in landscape mode, so the video is horizontal, but we’ll accept vertical videos, too. And in your delivery, give it a little…

Celebrating our Resilience, and Planning for the Rest of the Year

Greetings from the Generosity & Gratitude Ministry, This has been quite a season at WellSprings, as we’re sure it’s been for you, too. Sometimes it helps to take stock of all we’ve done, and recognize just how much we have to be grateful for—our adaptability, our tenacity, and our care for each other—amidst it all. Take a moment, if you’d like, to do that for yourself today. Make a list, and let yourself be grateful and astonished by it. What…
