Building Our Beloved Community: A Letter from the Stewardship Ministry

Greetings WellSprings! The Stewardship Ministry has begun work on our annual pledge campaign for the July 2024 through June 2025 fiscal year. We are inspired by our congregation’s generosity and sincerely thank everyone who supported WellSprings with a pledge commitment for the fiscal year July 2023 to June 2024.  Our pledge campaign theme this year is Building Our Beloved Community! At WellSprings, pledges are a commitment to give throughout the coming year. They allow us to plan for how WellSprings will…

Welcome Back, Caring Team!

With leadership from our former Intern, Beth Monhollen, last year – and after re-gathering over the past few months, with Rev. Lee – our Caring Team at WellSprings is officially re-forming in 2024. We are a small group, so we are starting small, with two projects to help our community connect and care for each other, in the year ahead: For now, our Team is: Carole Hovis, Eli Musewicz, & Shannon Rieder. We’ll be working closely with Rev. Lee and our Ministerial Intern, Nick,…

A Welcome to Some New Leaders

Welcome New Leaders! We are grateful to have some new leaders joining our Senior Leader Community at WellSprings in 2024! In January the Board announced that Chris Rieder has been appointed as a Board Trustee to fill the seat recently vacated. Chris is also a member of the Tech Team. Sarah Costa also recently joined our Stewardship Ministry. Sarah has volunteered in YouthSpirit, and you may recall that she led an “Off the Fence” Soul Bite, this past fall. Jenn Nettingham and Samantha Weber have also been actively participating in our YouthBridge Ministry – as…

WellSprings and Better Days Ahead Outreach Team Up to Help the Unhoused in Philly

All month long in January, our HeartWorks Team took up a collection of blankets, sleeping bags, and cold-weather gear of every kind – especially winter coats. The purpose of this collection was to support a day of outreach in Philadelphia, organized by Better Days Ahead. Chris Brickhouse, of the Better Days Ahead organization, was our guest speaker on Sunday, January 21st. He told us about the homelessness crisis right here in our area, and offered more ways that we can…

A Recap Of Our Congregational Meeting on 1/28

A Note from the board… Our hearts are full from our Special Congregational meeting on Sunday, January 28th, in which we discussed the process of calling a minister. Calling a minister is a matter of deep significance to a congregation, and we hope to approach it with the requisite reverence and love as we ask ourselves to more deeply commit in our relationship with Reverend Lee. It is fitting we started this process on the same day we mark our 17th birthday! …

Special Congregational Meeting on January 28th

A Note From the Board… Greetings WellSpringers, We are writing to provide notice of a Congregational Meeting to be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024, after Sunday service. The purpose of the Congregational Meeting is to share information about calling Reverend Lee Paczulla as our settled minister. The Meeting will also be live-streamed, just like previous Congregational Meetings. When Reverend Ken retired as our Founding Minister, it sparked many conversations and questions in our congregation. One question that arose was…

Success and Gratitude For Our Faithify Campaign

Thanks to your overwhelming generosity, we’ve exceeded the $5,000 fundraising goal for our Faithify campaign, over this holiday season! Our Ministerial Intern, Nick Sanchez, recorded a special “thank you” message to share, with all of our supporters, which you can watch on YouTube below. By the close of our campaign, 50 backers had pledged over $6,700 to support our Beldon Intern Fund at WellSprings. Of those, 22 gifts came from folks outside of our congregation’s membership, including other UU clergy from across the country,…

Christmas Eve at WellSprings

All are invited to join us this Sunday at 4:30pm, for our traditional candlelit Christmas Eve service, inspired by the Netflix original film “Klaus.” This funny and poignant animated film offers both a new “origin story” for Santa Claus – and reminds us of ways we all can find connection, in deeply divided times. This service will be in place of our usual 10am Sunday service, and will be the only service that day. If you are planning to join…

Below are photos of the HeartWorks Team dropping off all the gifts they collected during this event.
