Gifts for Chester County Futures’ Grads

Despite graduations postponed and senior years disrupted, our long time community partner, Chester County Futures (CCF), has continued to provide services to teens in our community. As part of this ongoing initiative, CCF planned to deliver a gift filled with goodies to each graduating senior, as they move on to their next endeavors. Our goal was twofold: 1. Provide every CCF senior (that’s 47 young adults) with a $20 gift card.2. Provide every CCF senior with a handmade graduation card.…

Interfaith Action Community’s Response to the Murder of George Floyd

WellSprings is proud to join with our neighboring faith communities today, signing on in support of the words below… The Interfaith Action Community (IAC) is a grassroots organization in Chester County, PA with a mission inspired by all our different faith traditions. We stand with communities of color and against all civic, societal, cultural, governmental, or religious policies, laws, and practices that maintain systemic racism and the myth of white supremacy. We add our voices to the call for justice…

WellSprings HeartWorks Team Delivers Care Packages to Six Local Nursing Homes

We know that long-term and congregate care facilities have been especially hard-hit by the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. With this in mind, the WellSprings HeartWorks Team came up with a way to help show our appreciation to the workers on the front lines, caring for some of our most vulnerable neighbors. The call went out for donations, and within four hours, the HeartWorks Team had received everything they needed to create care packages for the workers at local nursing homes. These included…

In this time of unprecedented economic disruption, more people than ever are experiencing hunger and food insecurity. In response, the IAC of Chester County invites you to donate to a virtual food drive…

Our Coat Drive to Benefit Chester County Futures was a Great Success!

Our HeartWorks Team received a lovely note of thanks and a photo from Chester County Futures, one of our partner organizations. They came to us earlier this season with a special request for approximately 80 winter coats. They needed help outfitting children and teens in their program, who might otherwise have to go without. We’re so glad we were able to help meet this acute need in our community. Members of our congregation piled up dozens of gently used winter…

WellSprings and Local Police Team Up to Help a Family in Need

Part of WellSprings mission is to spread generosity and love – even if it means crossing state and county lines! This was illustrated beautifully when our Heartworks Team received word from the Coatesville Police Department that there was a local family in need of some emergency assistance for the holidays. One of the items most urgently needed was a working refrigerator, and two of our congregants who live in Delaware came through with flying colors. So many thanks are in…

HeartWorks Winter Coat Collection

Our community partner, Chester County Futures, has asked us to help them meet a special need this winter: among the high school students enrolled in their programs locally are 77 teens who need a cold-weather coat. The size breakdown of needed coats is as follows: Small 17 – Medium 33 – Large 20 – X-Large 6.  In order to meet this unusual but very important goal for CCF, if you can place a collection box at your place of employment, we’d be grateful for that as well! Whether for…
