On Sunday, March 24th, we will be meeting up as a group to take a 1-hour ride on the flat Chester Valley Trail. We hope you can join us for this fun group activity!
All wheels are welcome: bikes, e-bikes, training wheels, e-scooters. We will ride at the pace of the group with ride leaders in front and behind. All abilities and levels of experience are welcome.
The Plan
We will meet at 12:45pm at Wegmans in Malvern, weather permitting.
As a group, we will all ride west on the flat Chester Valley Trail from Malvern to Exton Park and back to Malvern for a total of ~ 10 miles. Depending on the size of the group, this will probably take about an hour.
For anyone who would like to keep pedaling, we will head east on the Chester Valley Trail after dropping off our friends in Malvern. We will turn around in King of Prussia and then head back to Malvern for a total of ~ 25 miles. This part of the trail has a few moderate hills. Riding both sections together will take about 2.5 hours, depending on the group.
BRING
- Helmet (required)
- Water bottle, sunglasses/glasses, gloves, extra tire tube & CO2 canister or tubeless kit (depending on what kind of tires you have)
- Lights are not required but many people ride with them on even in the daytime (red in back, white in front)
RULES OF THE TRAIL
- Ride on the right side
- Ride single file when crowded, at most two-across when trail is clear
- Announce yourself when passing
- Always stop at road crossings
YOUR BIKE
- If you have not ridden your bike in a while, it’s worth getting it tuned up! TREK stores tend to have quick turn-around times. Keswick in Paoli will be much slower.
- Be sure to check your tire pressure – we will have a pump if needed.
