What to Expect at Our Holiday Services

What to Expect at Our Holiday Services

WellSprings is committed to bringing you some joy this season, even if it doesn’t look quite the way it did in a pre-pandemic era. We are offering three holiday services to our congregants, beginning with Christmas Eve.

Here’s what you can expect at each…

Christmas Eve Sunset Service

  • This service will be outdoors on the grounds of the Montgomery School, beginning at 4 PM on Friday, December 24th. (Bundle up!)
  • This is an all-ages service (no YouthSpirit today).
  • For those who can not, or do not wish to attend in person, this service will also be streamed live on our YouTube Channel.
  • We will gather together for a simple service, where we can sing Christmas carols together, and hear a few word from our ministers.
  • We are offering a hot chocolate and cookie bar to provide you with some sweet and warming treats during our time together.
  • Christmas Eve is traditionally when we take up a special collection for the Minister’s Emergency Fund. This money is used to help members of our congregation who find themselves struggling unexpectedly. You will have an opportunity to contribute, if you wish, at this service.
  • We will also have collection bins available for our Helping Hands service project. The most needed items are gloves and winter coats.
  • Kids and adults alike can contribute artwork or messages to a special art project that will be on display that evening.

WellSprings “Cozy at Home” Sunday Service for Deccember 26th

  • This will be a pre-recorded service, airing at 10 AM on our YouTube Channel.
  • This is an all-ages service (no YouthSpirit today).
  • As with all of our online services, you are invited to join in on the live chat alongside the video.
  • You can expect to see some special video messages from WellSpringers as they send you holiday greetings from their homes both far and near.
  • You are HIGHLY encouraged to attend this service in your PJs.
  • Think of this as a bit of a WellSprings Holiday Special.

New Year’s Service – Sunday January 2, 2022

  • This Sunday service will not be an in-person service, due to rising Covid numbers.
  • It will be broadcast live from Bell Hall at the Montgomery School on our YouTube Channel.
  • Traditionally, we take this opportunity to remember some of the musical artists we lost during the past year. This year, you can look for the WellSprings band performing songs by The Supremes, The Everly Brothers, Stephen Sondheim, and more.
  • At this service, we also observe the tradition of “letting go.” You will be invited to take a few quiet moments to reflect on thoughts, feelings, challenges, or habits you’d like to leave behind in this new year.
  • Rev. Ken will lead us through a ritual where we can symbolically let go of the things holding us back.
  • If you have something you’d like to release to be thrown in the fire on Jan 2nd, please email Rev. Ken and specify what it is. He’ll write it down on a slip of paper for the ritual.

We hope you can join us this holiday season! We are wishing you health, happiness, and peace in 2022 and beyond.
