Two MLK Day of Service Opportunities this Sunday

Two MLK Day of Service Opportunities this Sunday

This Sunday, there are two opportunities to engage in a day of service in honor of MLK day:

Warm Clothing Collection

Once again, members of the HeartWorks Team we will be traveling to Philadelphia to provide unhoused persons with warm clothing on Sunday, January 15th.

HeartWorks is collecting the following:

  • Sweaters
  • Pants
  • Winter Coats sizes L and XL

All items can be dropped off at the HeartWorks Table during Sunday Service. Interested in volunteering to help to help with the dropoff? Contact Sandy Tucker.

Children’s Book Collection

Do you have any outgrown children’s books on your shelves? Please bring them to Sunday service this week!

YouthSpirit alum, Natalie Rakoff, will be collecting books for children in Philadelphia as a part of the MLK Day of Service event. Drop them into the box in the back of Bell Hall, or send them down to YouthSpirit with your kids!

Natalie, now a WellSprings teen, will be a guest speaker in YouthSpirit this week.  They’ll talk with friends about homelessness and what can be done. Natalie is also bringing us a hands on activity –  completing and filling bags with supplies – that will go directly to folks in need in Philadelphia.

Thank you, WellSprings, for your support and involvement in these Day of Service projects!
