In the face of ongoing attacks on the sacredness of LGBTQ+ people, our local Chester County PrideFest was louder, larger, and more alive than ever this year.
With about 20 WellSpringers staffing our table throughout the day, folks from beyond our congregation came by to ask questions: about our services, our beliefs, to take flyers and stickers and affirmation mirrors – and of course, to be blessed with glitter and abundant love, by our volunteers. (The rainfall in the late afternoon joined in to “shower” us with blessings, too… but we turned it into a celebration.)
In our third year as a sponsor, we had a chance to reflect on the meaning and impact of our presence when a current WellSpringer reminded us that they first connected with our community at PrideFest back in 2023. They said receiving a glitter blessing that year “was when I learned I was born beloved, instead of sinful. I’m finally – just maybe – starting to believe it.”
Thank you all, for supporting our participation in community events like PrideFest with your time, contributions, and presence. It matters.
