Our Ministerial Intern, Nick Sanchez, has been a steady, centered, and grounding presence within our community since his arrival in September 2023. Nick’s time with us has been a true gift, and we’ve all witnessed his growth as a preacher and a pastor in his two years serving, and learning, alongside all of us at WellSprings. Nick joined us for a two-year internship as part of his training for Unitarian Universalist ministry – and now, his time with us is coming to an end.
This Sunday, June 15th, Nick will deliver his final message as our Ministerial Intern, during our regular worship service at 10am.
Then, on Sunday, June 29th, we will celebrate him with a farewell ritual – and a party! – after the service.
Some of you may remember that our previous Intern, Rev. Beth Monhollen, was ordained by our congregation on her final Sunday. Nick’s timeline towards ordination looks a little different. While Rev. Beth saw our denomination’s Ministerial Fellowship Committee (MFC) during her second year at WellSprings, Nick’s MFC appointment will be coming up later this Fall. We will definitely share an update with the whole congregation once we hear the news from his appointment! In the meantime, our whole community joins in sending thoughts, prayers, and blessings his way as he prepares to be considered for fellowship – and our hopes that we’ll be able to join in the celebration of Nick’s ordination, soon after.
We will be giving Nick a gift, on behalf of the whole congregation, at the end of June. You can contribute towards that gift, here – but you’re also welcome to bring your own personal cards or expressions of gratitude with you, on the 29th.
Please join us this month, to recognize Nick, honor his growth, and share what his two years with us have meant for you – and for our entire community!
