One of the newest additions to our congregational activities is the newly launched WellSprings Book Club – and you are invited to come check it out!
The club meets once a month, on a Monday evening at the Montgomery School, from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Books are announced about a month in advance.
This Month’s Book Club pick: Poverty by America by Matthew Desmond
In this landmark book, acclaimed sociologist Matthew Desmond draws on history, research, and original reporting to show how affluent Americans knowingly and unknowingly keep poor people poor. Elegantly written and fiercely argued, this compassionate book gives us new ways of thinking about a morally urgent problem. It also helps us imagine solutions.
