We’re busy planning for the year ahead at WellSprings! Our Fall message series begins in September – but you can scroll down to get a taste of the conversations we’ll be having (on Sunday mornings, in YouthSpirit, in our small groups, etc.) all throughout the year…
Breathing Together our Fall Message Series
The results are in, and living through history is exhausting. We feel overwhelmed by what’s happening in the big world beyond us, and also by the busy pace of the small world around us. Yet here we are, living – and breathing – through it. This Fall, let’s slow down to listen for that still, small voice, within us and beyond us. We’ll breathe together – reminding each other that we are part of a much bigger story, and noticing all the ways we are held, supported, and guided through this life.
Lift My Eyes our Holiday Message Series
All through human history – in every culture and place, during the hardest times imaginable – people have dared to hope. Spiritual traditions both ancient and modern give us an idea of help that comes from “the hills” – from somewhere beyond us. Whether we lift our eyes up, down, or around to each other, we keep on the lookout for signs of something better. Join us this holiday season as we call on these resources for hope, from all kinds of places outside of ourselves.
Expect 2025 our Winter Message Series
You might’ve heard about “Project 2025” – it’s a big, detailed plan that some of our national leaders want to make real, in the new year to come. But closer to home we know that our path is not predetermined, because we will create it together. We all yearn for wholeness in the communities that surround us – and it’s frightening to witness divisions that can make that wholeness seem impossible. No matter what our leaders do, we can make our own plans. We can greet the year ahead with faithful expectation: that all our different threads can be woven together, into whole cloth.
Saving & Savoring our Spring Message Series
The author E. B. White once said that he wakes up every morning “torn between the desire to save the world and the desire to savor the world… which makes it hard to plan the day.” We know the feeling. Pulled in every direction, stretched too thin – and somehow stuck standing still, as a result. But maybe the everyday practices of “saving” and “savoring” – of nurturing, protecting, and loving – are not so different from each other. Perhaps we can move forward by aligning our instincts, to save and to savor – pouring more of our energy into the people and places we love.
The Time Machine our May Message Series
Time is universal: we’re born, we die, and we get older in between. Yet time also makes something of us – something special and particular. The times in which we live, our stage of life, the ways we spend our time… all of it works like a machine, to make us who we are. In our all-ages series this May, we’ll explore how things change over time – what goes and what stays, what dies and what endures – by listening to the insights and wisdom that every generation has to share.
