I cherish our time together – even moreso – on any Sunday when the world brings its struggles and pains to our doorsteps, and floods our screens and newsfeeds with terror, and for so many of us, pierces to the very center of our hearts.

Unfortunately, as you’ve likely seen, our area is forecasted to see heavy snow overnight on Saturday, continuing all through the day Sunday. In the interest of safety, we are making the decision now to prepare for a snow cancellation. There will be no in-person service this weekend.

However, the one benefit of a large storm like this is that – unlike last weekend – we are able to prepare in advance. I was so grateful to see that last Sunday, our Ministerial Intern Yvette McDonnell recorded a wonderful message from home, all on her own, when we had to cancel for weather on short notice. Because we have more time now, I’m pleased to share the news that we’ll be adding a bit more to your at-home worship experience – some extra spiritual support for everyone who is disappointed that we can’t be together, this weekend.

So please join us on Sunday, January 25th at 10am for a YouTube-only service with music, a live chat, and lovingly prepared words and messages from your worship leader, the Trandahl family (announcements!), and from me. If you join us during the 10am hour, you’ll be able to sign in to the “Live Chat” that runs alongside the video premiere, and talk with me, and with your fellow congregants, while you worship from the comfort of home. Even if you miss the morning stream, you can still watch the recording later in the day, just as you can with any of our past Sunday services.

Please stay safe and warm this weekend, and may we continue to trust in the beauty and the power of community. We create this congregation together through our efforts, time, care, and love – and nothing… not even a few feet of snow… can take that away from us. <3

Take care,

Rev.
