Lee spoke about \u201cdigital campfires\u201d \u2013 small group communities with a common center, that gather across great distances. With all the uncertainty around us and ahead of us today, we\u2019d like to try creating a few virtual \u201cCampfire\u201d circles within WellSprings, for anyone who wants a little company, and support, from afar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Campfires will be small groups of 5-8 people who commit to check in with each other, all through the time that our in-person gatherings are suspended. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ll do our best to match you up with others looking for\nsimilar forms of connection. Maybe you want to be sure your Campfire includes\nexisting friends at WellSprings. Maybe you\u2019d like to connect with people in a\nsimilar stage of life or situation \u2013 people living alone, other single parents,\nessential workers still going to their job each day, etc. \u2013 or perhaps this\nwill be an opportunity for you to meet new people in our community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ll also group Campfires around preferred method of\ncommunication \u2013 so you can connect with other people who want to keep in touch\nin the same way. Maybe your Campfire wants to connect:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>on a video conference. <\/strong>Set up a regular\nday and time for an online check-in gathering, on the platform of your choice.\nWellSprings has a Zoom account we\u2019ll make available to you, if you like.<\/li><li><strong>on Facebook<\/strong>. If you\u2019re already on social\nmedia, you can create an intimate Facebook group for your Campfire to stay in\ntouch, share photos, and post regular updates with each other.<\/li><li><strong>via text<\/strong>. Use text messaging, or a\nmessaging app (i.e. WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger) to create a group text for\nconversation and connection, all throughout the week. <\/li><li><strong>via e-mail<\/strong>. Start a new e-mail thread\neach week to share personal updates, as well as interesting articles, poems,\nnews stories, and other sources of inspiration. <\/li><li><strong>by phone<\/strong>. Every week, one member of your\ngroup can call the rest, just to touch base. The responsibility rotates \u2013 so for\none week out of six, you make the calls.
