{"id":2674,"date":"2019-11-14T11:42:26","date_gmt":"2019-11-14T16:42:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wellspringsuu.org\/new\/?p=2674"},"modified":"2019-12-09T18:06:09","modified_gmt":"2019-12-09T23:06:09","slug":"ways-to-work-with-wellsprings-youth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wellspringsuu.org\/new\/ways-to-work-with-wellsprings-youth\/","title":{"rendered":"Ways to Work With WellSprings Youth"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>Serve to connect\nyouth, families and the whole of WellSprings<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>YouthBridge Core Ministry<\/strong> \u2013 join this new, tentatively-named core ministry to create new connections and opportunities for all WellSprings children, ages 0-17, their families, and our congregation, to grow together.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Expected\nto meet monthly or more.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Foster Teen Connection<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Teen Group<\/strong> \u2013 our fledging teen group currently meets several times a year for social or service opportunities.&nbsp; Past outings have included escape rooms, indoor obstacle courses, and game night.&nbsp; We need organizers, chaperones, drivers \u2026and teens of course, willing to explore connecting with their WellSprings peers.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Organizers\nmeet quarterly; events are typically monthly.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Support our Tweens\/early\nteens<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>OWL Facilitator<\/strong> \u2013 Facilitating Our Whole Lives (known as OWL, a UUA created and sanctioned human sexuality program), working with our 7-9<sup>th<\/sup> graders.&nbsp; WellSprings offers this program every other year.&nbsp; There is UUA OWL training available for virtually all age groups.&nbsp; As WellSprings grows, it\u2019s possible a need for additional OWL programs, to reach groups beyond grades 7-9 (including younger) may present itself.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Currently\nentails 3 days certified UUA training, thirteen Sunday OWL gatherings, weekly\nplanning time, plus a parent-orientation.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tween Group<\/strong>&nbsp; &#8211; we\u2019d love to initiate a tween\/younger teen group!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Nurture Kids 5-12\nyears old<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>YouthSpirit Lead Mentor<\/strong> \u2013 Lead age-specific groups most Sundays during the program year to play games, talk, do crafts, challenge thinking, ponder the world, foster spiritual growth, and create community for our 5-12 year olds.&nbsp; Lead Mentors are provided with a plan for each Sunday, <em>and<\/em>, they are encouraged to bring their own ideas for content as well.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Most Sundays\n9:30am September through May.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>YouthSpirit Classroom Helper<\/strong> \u2013 work with kids on rotating weeks during our Sunday YouthSpirit gatherings to support Lead Mentors and foster a communal experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>One to\nthree Sundays per month<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>YouthSpirit SpringBoard (YSSB) Facilitator<\/strong> \u2013 Help YouthSpirit kids understand your passions!&nbsp; Our YSSBs are typically 4-week, themed gatherings offered by our WellSprings teams and ministries three times each program year.&nbsp; These gatherings help our kids learn what makes WellSprings \u201ctick\u201d.&nbsp; What makes <em>you<\/em> \u201ctick\u201d?&nbsp; If you have a special skill or passion you wish to share with our growing members, consider signing up for one of next year\u2019s YSSBs.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Four\nSundays during 9:30am YouthSpirit, plus planning.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>YouthSpirit Mystery Reader<\/strong> \u2013 who will be the first?!&nbsp; We would love for congregants to join our young friends for some story time one Sunday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Care for our Youngest\n0-5 years old<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nursery backup volunteer<\/strong> \u2013 be on call to lend a hand in the nursery during service on rotating Sundays, and occasionally sub-in for our two caregivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Acquire your PA Volunteer Clearances!
