An Update as PA Moves Forward

This Friday, June 5th, Chester and surrounding area counties are all slated to move into the “Yellow” phase of Pennsylvania’s re-opening plan. This means that some WellSprings members may see retail shops re-opening in their area, may be re-adjusting to some form of in-person work, facing new decisions about child care and summer camps – or perhaps, just making some shifts to their own social behaviors – as the stay-at-home order is lifted.  At this time, WellSprings plans to continue our current…

Board of Trustees Update – May 2020

Looking Ahead As Rev. Lee shared in her recent message, there is still much uncertainty as to when WellSprings will again meet in person, and our Staff Team is beginning to imagine what the entire next church year would look like, if held remotely. As we have seen in the past eight weeks, the “Charge of the Soul” is still with us, in new and different ways – and we look forward to continuing to explore the possibilities for connection and…

WellSprings HeartWorks Team Delivers Care Packages to Six Local Nursing Homes

We know that long-term and congregate care facilities have been especially hard-hit by the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. With this in mind, the WellSprings HeartWorks Team came up with a way to help show our appreciation to the workers on the front lines, caring for some of our most vulnerable neighbors. The call went out for donations, and within four hours, the HeartWorks Team had received everything they needed to create care packages for the workers at local nursing homes. These included…

Looking Ahead: A Letter From Rev. Lee

This message is available as a video, and as a letter. Dear WellSpringers, As I sat down to write today, I tried to remember the last time I saw any of you in person. I checked the calendar – it was March 8th – a Sunday morning, like any other. Two services, greeters at the door, folks arranging chairs, worship leader and preacher going over their notes, staff and helpers setting up for our kids, the band rehearsing, two volunteers…

(Digital) Coffee with Rev. Lee

Before we began physically social-distancing, Rev. Lee would host open hours twice a week at local coffee shops, over lunchtime. Whomever wanted to drop by was welcome – all could get to know each other, and have a consistent time and place to find Rev. Lee. Obviously, our current situation means WellSpringers won’t be meeting up in person now, but Rev. Lee is making space for us to gather with her, and with each other, in other ways. On Tuesdays,…

Don’t Miss a Charged-Full Moment

As you know, our services and other gatherings have all moved online in the wake of Covid-19. As we continue to social distance as a means of caring for one another, we want to make sure you’re able to fully connect with WellSprings in whatever ways you can. Below are a few common technical issues you might be facing, and how to solve them. If you are having difficulty accessing Zoom, whether it’s for our coffee hour, for Lunch with…

Join a Campfire…

In her message on March 22nd, Rev. Lee spoke about “digital campfires” – small group communities with a common center, that gather across great distances. With all the uncertainty around us and ahead of us today, we’d like to try creating a few virtual “Campfire” circles within WellSprings, for anyone who wants a little company, and support, from afar. Campfires will be small groups of 5-8 people who commit to check in with each other, all through the time that…

Sunday Morning Online

Until we can gather in person again, WellSprings is finding new ways to connect online. We’re adding some things to our schedule this weekend! Check out our Sunday plans: Every Sunday: 9am YouthSpirit. On Sundays we’ll use the online platform “Zoom” to gather kids together! To start, we’ll simply be walking through some of the basic functionality of Zoom, and checking in on each other. In future weeks, we’ll develop YouthSpirit offerings as we learn, together. Parents and caretakers, please log…

WellSprings Online in March

We know how much WellSprings matters to all of us, and we’re so grateful that we can continue to share experiences of connection, even during a time when keeping physical distance is an act of care. Beginning on Sunday, March 15th, we’ll offer a new kind of experience: WellSprings Online. Here’s how it works: At 10am each Sunday morning, a video will go live on our YouTube channel. You’ll see everything you expect to see at a regular service. A worship leader…

WellSprings Suspending All In-Person Gatherings

WellSpringers, I’m writing to you all this evening to update you on our community’s plans, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our Board and I have decided that as of Friday, March 13th, we are suspending all in-person WellSprings gatherings, until further notice. In our conversations over the past week, I’ve heard how many of you are dealing with the changing environment around COVID-19 in your own workplaces, in schools, and with your families. The Board and I have also…

Coronavirus and our Congregation: An Evolving Situation

As we shared last week, the coronavirus, COVID-19, has made its way to the US, and we hope to keep ourselves and one another safe and healthy through this season. This afternoon, Rev. Lee and Board President Chris Chepel joined a call hosted by the Chester County Department of Health, offering guidance to religious and other community organizations. At this time, there is no recommendation in the county to cancel religious services. The Montgomery School is also in daily communication with…
